Carr Kitchen Design: 2019 Kitchen Countertop Trends
2018 is not over yet, but design experts are already discussing next year’s kitchen countertop and color trends. If you are planning to redesign your kitchen in the upcoming months here is what experts believe could be some hot trends for 2019.
Quartz
Quartz is currently one of the most durable kitchen countertop materials and it looks like the material is here to stay. It is rather expensive, but pretty much indestructible. However, edges can chip and you’ll need to hire a professional to repair them. The material which is a combination of mineral, color and raisin comes in a variety of colors. It’s durable and has incredible finish options.
Go Dark?
A trend that appears to be coming back from the 80s is black, according to several experts. Darker colors including black bring a certain elegance to a space. You could combine dark countertops with warm wood or even gold finishes to give your kitchen a new modern look. Several paint manufactures already announced what they believe to be the color trends for next year. Those include a dark blue, a dark rich brown and some experts believe dark teals will be among the it-colors in 2019. In 2018, Pantone, which is best known for its color matching system, had named “Ultra Violet” a bright purple color of the year. Pantone will announce the 2019 color of the year in December.
